The Inconsistency
Introduction
The Inconsistency can be started in Chapter 6 after obtaining access to Surf. Completing this quest rewards the player with a Type: Null, the Poison Memory, an Aevian Munna, and a Nightmare Fuel.
Guide
From the bottom of Route 3, Surf south until you reach River's End, then enter the south building on the right. Once you enter, you will be greeted by Eizen and Matthew Vasile.
Once the introductions are finished, speak to Matthew, and ask what he studies. He will be cut off by Eizen, and you will be asked a small series of questions. If you answer these correctly, you will be able to obtain a special reward after the quest has been completed. If you answer incorrectly, the quest will continue as normal.

After the dialogue, Eizen will give you a Lab Key, and will tell you to investigate the Forsaken Laboratory below Wispy Tower.
Once you arrive in the lab, enter the last door on the left, Surf across the water, and enter the right door. You will need to complete a tile puzzle to open the door. Below is the solution:
Once you've completed the tile puzzle, head inside and grab the Poké Ball. Eizen will appear and bring you back to River's End. Now that you're back at the lab, speak to Matthew, where he will request that we bring him a Poké Ball, a Magnet, and an Up-Grade.
- A Magnet can be obtained as one of the rewards in the Painter Sidequest, found on wild Nosepass at a 5% chance, or found in the sidequest items shop in The Lost Camp unlocked during the Lost Souls quest.
- An Up-Grade can be found in Madelis' Lab in Carotos Mountain (missable), found in the Kakori Village Ranger HQ, or bought in Somnium Mall in Grand Dream City after obtaining 8 Stamps.
Once you have all the items you need, speak to Matthew again. After transferring the Type: Null to a new Poké Ball, it will flee to the west side of River's End. Capture the Type: Null and return to Matthew. He will mention that if we get it to evolve into Silvally, he will give us something. Raise its happiness to max, and level it up to evolve. Once evolved, return to Matthew to receive the Poison Memory and complete the quest.
If you answered Eizen's questions correctly, the top house will now be unlocked. Head inside to get an Aevian Munna and a Nightmare Fuel.
