Desert's Mark is a non-damaging Ground-type Move. It is Ryland's Gym Leader signature Move.

Effect

General

Desert's Mark changes the target's type to pure Ground. The effect lasts as long as the target remains in battle; however, changing form or transforming overrides the effect. Additionally it traps the target in a Sand Tomb inflicting 1/8 of the target's maximum HP as damage and preventing switching and escape for four to five turns upon use.
Pokemon affected will take sandstorm damage even if previously immune.

Desert's Mark fails if used on a target with Multitype or RKS-System

Desert's Mark bypasses accuracy checks to always hit unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly.

Field Interactions

The end of Turn damage form Sand Tomb (and as such Desert's Mark) is raised to 1/6 of the target's maximum HP on Desert Field

Sand Tomb (and as such Desert's Mark) causes the target's accuracy to drop by one stage on Ashen Beach field at then end of the turn while trapped.

Pokemon learning Desert's Mark

Currently no Pokemon learn Desert's Mark naturally, the only user of the Move is Ryland during his Gym Battle.
