Ryland is Aevium's Ground-type Gym Leader. He's a previous resident of Alamissa Urben, and became one of Bladestar's admins in an attempt to help his people and bring Cassandra to justice. His attachment to his hometown lead to him being unwilling to leave Alamissa Urben, and instead spends time there, rigging small Timesplicer Stones to show anyone who passes through visions of the place prior to its destruction.

Biography

Ryland grew up in Alamissa Urben along with his brother Adam, and Alexandra and Damien. He was born as Eve but transitioned to male at some point. He used to know Karen before she dabbled with Garufan magic. At some point, he became allied with Flora and became a member of Bladestar.

Trivia

• In the unreleased versions of Rejuvenation, Ryland was called Eshros and played a somewhat different role in the story. Out of spite of Grand Dream City's negligence to help the Badlands, he was part of a group of bandits, and stole Miltank from Yui's Ranch to provide for the people who remain in the desert.
• Ryland currently has two VS portraits in the graphics folder, but only one of them is actually currently used in-game. The unused sprite was posted in the V12 development thread as a red herring, which lead to people being surprised by his actual appearance when fighting him while he's possessed by Flora once V12 came out.
