"I was going to let you guys find it on your own so you'd feel accomplished, or whatever... But now I'm gonna spoil it."
Whoa there, buckaroo! This page contains some pretty heavy spoilers for the game and might ruin the surprise for some things for you, so continue reading at your own risk!
Zetta is an executive of Team Xen first introduced during the invasion of Goldenwood Forest. Despite coming across as laid back at first, he's far from friendly and capable of turning Pokémon into and controlling Dimensional Rifts. He is tasked with capturing Melia.
Zetta has spiky, light blonde hair that’s slightly swept to the left. He wears a Xen uniform unique to him consisting of a light gray coat with small blue accents on the sleeves as well as the bottom of the coat, and dons a dark gray turtleneck sweater underneath. He wears magenta gloves, with the same color on his boots to match.
Personality
He’s rather enigmatic, as not much is known about him prior to when the protagonist first encounters him. Upon first impression, he’s rather snarky and quick-witted, and can grow irritated quite easily if given the correct circumstance despite his level-headed prose. Seeing as how he’s primarily in charge of the Rift Pokemon division, he lacks a regard for ethical experimentation and will go to any means necessary to complete a mission.
It’s shown that despite his casual nature, he takes his job extremely seriously. He prefers to approach things cautiously and with a plan beforehand, as shown when urging Geara to not rush him upon figuring out teleporter coordinates; claiming that it must be perfect, or something may go wrong.
Within the Nightmare Realm, he comes off as much more sympathetic and laid-back than the Zetta from the real world. While still eccentric and stubborn, he now lacks a demeanor of antagonism, even going as far as to mention that anger won’t solve anyone’s problems. In contrast to the earlier chapters of the game, he actually takes satisfaction in helping the protagonist and their friends forward their goals, disapproving of the Puppet Master going completely off the deep end.
Biography
Zetta is first encountered within Goldenwood Forest along with Eli and Sharon, during Team Xen’s invasion of it shortly after the Gym Battle with Venam. He informs the protagonist of Dimensional Rifts and their purpose, before going on to refer to them as mass weapons of destruction that he’s willing to use against the protagonist. Upon activation, it turns out to be a Rift Gyarados, thus leading to the battle with it.
Later on within Amethyst Cave, he’s discovered again with yet another rift. Only this time, he informs the protagonist of Melia’s alleged death and shows enragement over it – lashing out at them and saying that it could have been avoided had they not interfered with his prior plans. He goes on to say that if he dies for his failure, then he’ll make sure to take the protagonist with him – proceeding to launch them into a rift with Venam and Ren, leaving the trio to fight against Rift Galvantula. Post-battle, he’s not seen for quite some time as Crescent traps him within a pocket dimension.
On Terajuma Island, Zetta is freed from the pocket dimension along with Geara and Professor Jenner thanks to Nim’s overexertion of her psychic energy. He taunts the protagonist regarding his fortunate escape, but inevitably retreats after the battle with Geara – who calls upon Giratina in order to disappear with his two colleagues and Nim, who’d turned to stone. Him and the rest of Team Xen then reside on the island, wreaking havoc until the protagonist and their friends were caught as targets.
Upon arrival to Terajuma Falls, Rorim B is seen having been defeated by Zetta – and Neved, who accompanies him in Team Xen’s pursuit of each of the relics. Him and Melia have a verbal altercation regarding his morality, raising the question of why he’s doing all of this – up until the protagonist has the option to fight him or Neved. If the protagonist chooses to fight Zetta, he simply says “Alright”. This decision has no impact on the story, as afterwards he will always flee with Neved onto a getaway helicopter. On Helojak Island, however, Zetta briefly appears once again with the rest of Team Xen as soon as the protagonist reaches the rooftop of the factory. Nastasia tasks him to fight Melia, and after the battle he’s temporarily knocked down by an arrow from Crescent; only to eventually get up in a state of irritation and retreat with Madelis.
If Madame X is defeated in Blacksteeple Castle, Zetta will appear alongside Professor Jenner in the Tower of Theolia – warding off Angie so that the protagonist can continue forward, explaining how Tapu Koko had brought them there and that “the issue is something that needs even Team Xen’s intervention”.
When reaching the summit of Valor Mountain, Zetta is working alongside Geara and is briefly knocked out by Professor Jenner’s Klinklang. Upon waking up, it can be inferred that he falters with Team Xen’s goals after Nim and Jenner are disposed of by Geara, as he shows hesitancy and even directly exclaims that what they’re doing is going too far. He claims that the other Executive has gone completely out of control, and displays a lack of words upon entering and being defeated within the double battle which the protagonist must fight.
Post-battle, he’s unable to do anything other than stand in shock – before Geara shouts at him to do something, to which he quickly jumps back into action and restrains Melia as the protagonist is pushed into the lava. Once the protagonist is revived, Zetta enters one last battle with them and Venam with his Pokemon at 1HP. Afterwards, Crescent appears at the scene, and she mentions that Zetta has been allowed to stay out of his “true form” for too long; to which he displays panic over, and proceeds to beg through tears for her to not do it. Despite his desperate pleas, Crescent reverts Zetta back into a Solosis as the surrounding characters watch in horror – and officially places him onto her team, thus rendering his status as a Xen Executive nullified and the Valor Mountain mission a failure.
He’s eventually encountered again within the protagonist’s dreams in Grand Dream City, albeit disguised with black hair and a red top hat and coat to take on an entirely new appearance. He involves them in a game of chess in which the pieces are meant to represent the people the protagonist had met along their journey. He continues to appear within their dreams to ask the protagonist questions, one of which being "What is my name?". Who he is remains unknown (unless the protagonist answers correctly), until they reach the Nightmare Casino with Aelita – to which he finally reveals his identity, then requiring them to gain puppet coins in order to face the Puppet Master.
Once the protagonist receives the correct amount of puppet coins and tries to use the elevator to get to the next room, Zetta appears for one final battle. After his defeat, he asks the protagonist to “tell Melia that he's sorry”. As he disappears, Aelita briefly mentions that she isn’t sure if he was accurately representative of the real Zetta’s feelings. No matter the case, this manifestation of Zetta is seen throughout the rest of the protagonist’s journey within Nightmare City – working as a subordinate for the Puppet Master and providing guidance as well as tips on how to navigate the School of Nightmares within the Platinum Route.
At the end of the Platinum Route, he disappears along with the Puppet Master and the rest of the Nightmare Realm after bidding the protagonist a farewell.

Round 2
Zetta is battled on Volcanic Top Field in a Tag Battle with Geara. Venam is the player's partner.
All of Geara, Zetta and Venam's Pokémon start the battle at 1 HP.
Neither Zetta nor Geara have healing items. Zetta owns a Silvally Crest.
Madame X - While there is a lack of direct interactions, it can be inferred that Zetta is dedicated to her goals; as he does everything his job requires for him to do without hesitance for the majority of the plot. Through the Amethyst Cave encounter with him, he seems highly serious about refusing to fail – as he doesn’t want to get executed for failing a mission.
Geara - Despite being paired together with him on missions and job tasks frequently, he doesn’t particularly get along with Geara in a conventional way – growing exasperated by his impulsive, hot headed nature and even telling him to “not be a moron”. Geara is short-tempered, while Zetta appears to be the more level-headed of the duo; which more often than not leads them to disagree with one another. Regardless of this, they work well enough together in battle and have a good synergy which allows them to temporarily have the upper-hand at the scene of Valor Mountain – that is, until Zetta begins to feel pressured by the other Executive, growing wary and unnerved at his extreme persistence to the mission.
Madelis - There’s no obvious sense of animosity between him and Madelis, and he even mentions that he “guesses they have gotten along pretty well”; along with offhandedly commenting that he respects her confidence which borders on “plain stupidity”. He seems to find amusement in her words, and even teases Geara with her – though it’s hinted that without anyone else around, he may grow irritated in her presence.
Cassandra - While not having much interaction with Cassandra, he mentions within the Nightmare Realm that he feels thankful for rarely having to talk to her – believing that she’s blatantly disrespectful for seemingly no reason at all.
Melia - Within the early chapters, Zetta seems to view Melia as nothing more than a mission objective – knowing that his primary objective is to capture her and bring her back to HQ. He displays annoyance towards her, believing that she is stubborn to the point where it annoyingly interferes with his work – though is, in a way, able to understand that stubbornness because he experiences it himself. This turns out to be due to the fact that he is a failed clone of Melia, and as a result shares several traits with her – to the point where they could be considered siblings, in a way. Nightmare City’s version of Zetta reveals that he could possibly hold some form of regret for treating her the way he did, and wonders what things would have been like between them if he’d acted differently.
