Reina is a trainer first properly introduced in Grand Dream City, though she makes a couple of cameos throughout the game prior. She's Ren's twin sister, and has been searching for him after he ran away from home.
Reina has short, dark grey hair that falls smoothly around her head, a little bit more into a fringe on the right side. She also has dark grey eyes and an enthusiastic expression. She wears grey shorts, ankle-high grey boots, and a gentle pink long-sleeved shirt that has the Korean word for "love" printed onto the front of it in white.
Reina makes her first appearance in the Sapphire Museum in Kristiline Town where she approaches the Protagonist and Aelita thinking they are also mythology enthusiasts. Learning about their search for a way to melt Nevermeltice, Reina shares a story called The Princess With the Frozen Heart. She informs Aelita and the Protagonist that the Magma Stone from the story has the properties to melt Nevermeltice. Satisfied with the conversation, Reina prepares to take her leave stating she is searching for her brother, Ren, who ran away from home. Before Aelita can tell Reina about Ren however, she rushes off.
Within the temporary Team Xen base in Valor Mountain, Reina is shown to have been captured and locked up. If the player chooses to free her, Reina promises to make it up to the protagonist later before rushing off again.
Reina is later seen bowling in Club STFU enjoying Amber’s party; she thanks the protagonist for saving her in Valor Mountain and gives them a dusk stone and some EXP candy. She also asks the protagonist if they want to have a 2v2 battle.
If Flora doesn't get arrested after the events at the Darchlight Caves, Reina returns much later and is seen browsing in the Blakeory Athenaeum. After seeing the protagonist and Huey get thrown out of the library, Reina also leaves and proceeds to hangout with them. Kanon appears soon after and requests that the protagonist come speak to Krystal alone in Sashila Village. Reina disregards this and drags Huey with her to the National Park where the protagonist is meeting Kanon and convinces Kanon to invite Huey and her along.
After journeying to the entrance of Sashila Village, Damien informs the group that Alexandra has gone missing. He tasks Reina with searching the Voidal Chasm to which Reina readily accepts. In the chasm, Reina confronts a hooded figure standing with an unconscious Alexandra. Believing the figure to be responsible for knocking Alexandra out, Reina asks the protagonist to fight them since she herself is not a trainer. When the hooded figure is revealed to be Ren, Reina is shocked and immediately begins to question why Ren left home only to stop and help Ren get Alexandra out of the chasm. Upon helping her out, Reina begins to grill Ren again only to fall into disbelief when she finds out he joined Team Xen. Later, Reina becomes angry at Alexandra for wanting to send Ren and the protagonist in her place to destroy a dimensional rift in Zone Zero.
In the Sashila Inn, Reina recounts a story to Huey and the protagonist about her mother seeing an oracle in Grand Dream City. The oracle told Reina’s mother that her children were one day destined to clash and because of this story, Reina becomes concerned that she was not able to stop her brother from falling onto a dark path by joining Team Xen.
If Flora has been arrested after the events at the Darchlight Caves, Reina hangs out with the protagonist and Huey after they get thrown out of the atheneum and they play volleyball together. Afterwards, Reina gets captured by Bladestar grunts. After losing a battle, the Bladestar grunts teleport Reina, the protagonist, and Huey to the Voidal Chasm and Reina falls into the chasm depths after the machine the Bladestar grunts were operating gets shot down.
Reina regroups with the protagonist and Huey, and they attempt to find their way out of the chasm depths. Upon seeing the Bladestar grunts further in the cave, Reina pursues them seeking revenge for kidnapping her. Later, the hooded figure allows the Bladestar grunts to leave leading Reina to angrily question the figure and she pulls off his hood revealing the figure to be Ren much to her shock. Reina quickly recovers and hugs her brother and promptly slaps him for letting the Bladestar grunts get away.
Later, Reina falls into disbelief over finding out that Ren joined Team Xen. While resting in the chasm, Reina tells the protagonist and Huey the story about her mother seeing an oracle in Grand Dream City. She states that between her and Ren, one of them will fall into darkness and work to end the world while the other will fight to preserve it. Unnerved, Reina hopes that the whole story is a coincidence.
At the entrance to Sashila Village, Reina questions Ren about why he is about to leave after having not spoken for over year. After he departs, Reina becomes resigned to Ren leaving and states her desire to go back home to Goldenleaf Town. After initially meeting with Alexandra, she joins the protagonist, and Huey in spending the day in Sashila Village. The next day, Reina wakes up the protagonist to meet with Alexandra. After overhearing that Ren and the protagonist agreed to stop the dimensional rift in Zone Zero, Reina tells the protagonist that it is not fair they have to risk their lives and ultimately storms off in frustration after realizing nothing will change the protagonist’s mind.
At the entrance of Alamissa Urben, Reina embraces Ren celebrating his good intentions about joining Team Xen. She also convinces Ren to let Huey and her join in stopping the dimensional rift in Zone Zero. Upon reaching the end of Alamissa Urben, Reina teams up with Huey to fight Bladestar admins that ambushed the group. Reina and the rest of the group ultimately get transported to Past Aevium after an encounter with a mysterious figure.
Upon coming to, Reina and the group encounter Hazuki and subsequently Anju outside Hiyoshi City. The two plan to take the group to see Nymiera and after they depart, Reina remarks that she finds Hazuki to be mean though she admits that talking smart to someone holding a sword was not one of her brightest ideas.
Reina along with the group meet up in Nymiera’s apartment to find a way back home. While resting, Reina comments that she feels she has seen a diagram on Nymiera’s wall before. Reina later joins the group and listens to Nymiera’s story describing the Great Pokémon War.
Later, Reina helps the group search for the mysterious figure who was chasing after Kanon. When the group decides to send the protagonist to Hiyoshi pass to find the mysterious figure, Reina wishes them luck and tells them to scream really loud if they find the guy. After the protagonist passes out due to exhaustion, Reina accompanies Huey and Ren in checking them into Hiyoshi hospital. When Ren decides to head out, Reina asks to go with him but is rebuffed by Ren. Ultimately, Reina decides to go visit a lake north of Hiyoshi City with Huey.
Reina and Huey later return to the hospital to check on the protagonist and encounter Ren who is looking for an underground base underneath Hiyoshi City. When Ren locates the base, he tells Reina and Huey who go on ahead while he checks on the protagonist one last time. Inside the base, Reina encounters Gardevoir along with Huey and Ren and is teleported from the others while being locked away into a Rift.
Inside the Rift, Reina’s doubts about Ren’s intentions for joining Team Xen are revealed. She becomes concerned and convinced that Ren will kill them all if she does not stop him. Reina, possessed by the Rift matter, then attacks the protagonist. When Reina is freed, she tells the group that those thoughts were not feelings she wants to act on and falls into a brief stupor. She breaks out of it almost immediately when she remembers that Ren is still fighting Gardevoir.
Deep in the base, Reina finds an unconscious Ren and checks his breathing only to discover that her brother’s body is mechanical. As the protagonist steps up to challenge Gardevoir, Reina tries to stop them only to be shoved aside by the protagonist. After the protagonist defeats Gardevoir, Reina expresses relief over Ren who had awakened and subsequently joins the fignt against Gardevoir. To help prevent Gardevoir from escaping, Reina has her Swoobat use imprison on Gardevoir and joins Ren in landing the finishing blow to Gardevoir.
Ren wants to head deeper into ruin but, Reina reminds him that Nymiera said to leave the rest to her. After the group escapes the ruins, Reina questions why Ren went after Gardevoir. She also questions why and how Ren’s body is mechanical, she is very unsatisfied by his answer.
Eventually, Reina and the group find a timesplicer crystal in Nymiera’s apartment and travel back to the current time. Outside the village, where the obelisk has emerged, Alexandra mentions that the structure is made out of black shards to which Reina responds that she owns a black shard and that it broke her desk because it increased in size. Kanon arrives soon after and reveals his true origins which causes Huey to have a breakdown ending with Reina taking Huey back to the village.
After the protagonist defeats Ren, Reina proceeds to give Ren a hard time over the loss. Ren mentions that Grand Dream City is not safe and would prefer Reina goes back home but Reina only thanks him for his concern stating she will be more careful. Alongside Huey and the protagonist, Reina says goodbye to Ren as he departs. In preparation for going back to the city, Reina mentions she bothered Damien to give them all a ride to Route 9, so they do not have to travel through the desert again. Upon arriving, Reina asks to accompany the protagonist and Huey to the Grand Dream Tournament since she has nothing better to do.
In the middle of the tournament, Reina appears with Huey at the gate to congratulate the protagonist for getting far. She also cheers up Huey who had been defeated earlier. While cheering him up, Reina thinks up a plan to get Huey another opportunity in the tournament. In the final match of the round, it is revealed she dressed Huey up as Kanon and encouraged Huey from the crowd.
After Bladestar interrupts the tournament, the protagonist meets with Reina and Huey in the main lobby. Huey wants to sneak into the city to find their friends before it is too late and Reina agrees but, Huey decides against the idea when Reina enthusiastically states that there could be another attack. Outside the tournament, Reina and the group meet up with Ren who had arrived with a Xen airship and are surprised to learn the fates of Melia, Alice, Allen, and Erin. Before boarding the ship, Reina reassures Huey that they should trust Ren when coming up with a way to aid Melia and the rest.
On the Xen airship, Nastasia explains the plan to get to Eclysia Pyramid, the group’s target destination, and she divides the group up into teams where Reina is assigned to Team B along with Huey and Rhodea. While waiting to get to Zone Zero, Reina mocks Team Xen over the travel time remembering that Bladestar teleported them into the Badlands in no time. Reina also lifts Huey’s mood when he laments Alice’s and Allen’s fate.
Later while exploring Zone Zero, the protagonist, Ren, and Aelita get ambushed by Bladestar grunts but, Reina and the rest of Team B show up and buy Team A time to escape. Ren attempts to object but, Reina tells Ren there will be trouble if they do not destroy the rift and likens the situation to their Aunt Rina’s 57th birthday party which gets Ren moving. Huey is reminded of her Uncle Leo as well to which Reina responds that her family is complicated.
After defeating the grunts and further exploring Zone Zero, Reina and Huey notice that Rhodea has been acting differently and fail to stop her when she says she is going back to the ship. Afterwards, Reina and Huey meet up with Team A at the dilapidated Pokémon Center and Reina reassures Aelita when she fears that Team A has been slow. Per Aelita’s direction, Reina and Huey go out and search for a way to progress through Zone Zero.
Once Ren gets repaired, Reina mentions that they have lost 5 hours due to the repairs and starts to get frustrated with the lack of progress though she is reminded to stay calm by Aelita. Outside, the group meets up by the locked gate and Adam takes charge in opening the path and Reina wonders what his plan is. As Adam attempts to ram the gate down, the gate opens, and Adam falls on his face to which Reina laughs hysterically. The group becomes aware of the rift being up ahead and Reina along with the rest of Team B and Team C return back to the airship.
Inside Eclysia Pyramid, Reina and Huey meet up with Ren, Aelita, and the protagonist stating that Nastasia sent them after the group as back up. When Aelita mentions that Alice and Allen have been running around using the power of the Unown, Reina recalls reading about a girl who used the Unown to turn her mansion into a crystal palace. Reina later believes that Alice has lost touch between what is real and what is not due to the influence from the Unown.
Deeper in the pyramid, Reina helps Ren, the protagonist, and Huey fight through another Bladestar ambush. Reina makes sure to take note that the Corsola are carrying knives. Due to the fighting, the pyramid launched an eradication procedure which eliminated the Bladestar grunts. Seeing that shook up Ren emotionally and Reina reassures her brother to keep going.
At the pinnacle of the pyramid, Reina fights alongside the rest of the group against Bladestar and their leader. After successfully defeating Bladestar and saving their friends, Reina and the others travel back down the pyramid to the Spring of Rejuvenation. On the way back down, Reina asks Huey about his sister Rune and Huey begins to accept that he might not find her. Huey acknowledges his friendship with Reina and likens their relationship to having another sister. Reina, touched by his words, promises to be the best big sister for Huey.
Reina and the rest of the group quickly turn back when they hear an explosion at the top of the pyramid. Madame X then appears and Reina recognizes this may be out of her skill range though she still joins the group in fighting Madame X alongside the mysterious duo in white. Ultimately, Reina and her friends get knocked out by the mysterious duo. Reina awakens with the help of Adam and Braxien who managed to fend off the mysterious duo.
After returning to the penthouse, Reina, Huey, the protagonist, and Melia relax on the couch. Reina wonders where Rhodea went but dismisses the thought stating she will show up sometime. The group also devises a plan to save Lavender from Dr. Isha and Erin assigns Melia and Reina to find his underground lair. Three days after saving Lavender, Reina tells the protagonist she is going to hangout in the city with Huey and says she will bring a churro back for them.
As the protagonist, Melia, and Venam prepare to head to Sashila Village, Reina plans on housesitting the penthouse while everyone is away.
Reina later arrives at Axis High University after hearing about reality being distorted and wants Huey, the protagonist and Lavender to leave with her. After being told why they cannot leave, Reina decides to wait with them caring more for them than her own personal safety.
Later while the protagonist and Aelita advance toward the Puppet Master, Reina along with Huey and Lavender arrive to protect Melia from an attack. Reina encourages Huey to go ahead while she and Lavender protect Melia. While standing against the Puppet Master, Reina along with the others express their belief in the protagonist’s success.
