The Puppet Master is an enigmatic figure that makes their home in a dreamscape in Grand Dream City, aptly called Nightmare City. As the name would imply, the Puppet Master is intent on manipulating the Events in the Aevium Region to their benefit, but their exact goals are unknown. They make a habit of contacting people in their dreams whenever they need to tell them something, and also occasionally deliver rather striking oversized giftboxes filled with contents meant to nudge people in certain directions. The Protagonist fights Neon and Magenta, two "extensions" of the Puppet Master, as the substitute Psychic gym leaders (albeit rather suddenly and unconventionally) in place of Lavender.

Magenta and their partner Neon act as extensions of the Puppet Master. The player fights them in place of Lavender as the Psychic-type leaders of the Aevium league.

Personality

Magenta and Neon

Not a lot is known about Magenta and Neon's personalities, as they appear only for their battle. Seeing as their only bit of dialogue is "Hehe.." they might not be fully free-thinkers, instead only serving as puppets to the Puppet Master. If they do have personalities, they might be similar to the Puppet Master's own personality, knowing important information, but not letting it on in a direct way.

Magenta and Neon

Magenta and Neon appear for a short time to test the player in place of the Puppet Master. After their defeat, they disappear. Nothing more is known about either of them.

• It's unknown whether or not Magenta and Neon are extensions of the Puppet Master, puppets controlled by them or something else entirely.
• Magenta and Neon, as well as with Lavender, are named after colors. Despite their name however, Magenta doesn't have the color magenta anywhere on their body. Neon however has a neon green vest and "hair".
